Family of Kannadiga youth in dire straits in Uganda

Update: 2017-02-04 06:40 GMT

A youth  hailing from Belthangady taluk ( of Dakshina Kannada District in Karnataka) is living in dire straits in  Kampala, the   capital of Uganda in Africa. His family including his Somalian wife, two daughters aged 5 and 3 and a son aged 1  are  literally  suffering  unable to have even one square meal per day.

Vartha Bharati could not independently verify and confirm this.

The Belthangady origin youth who was working for a company in Uganda  since several years was residing   at Namuvongo near Kampala. He says, Four months ago, he was robbed of the  company office key and cash  by some strangers when he was returning home with them after locking the office. As  the cash that was robbed  accounted to Rs 12 lakhs in Indian currency, the company blamed the youth for the same. When he could not reimburse the  lost cash, the  company filed a police complaint following  which the youth has been arrested literally landing his family on the streets. Back in Belthangady, his relatives too  have been helpless.

The local mosque which was supplying  food materials to the youth's family when he was in prison has stopped the supply ever since  the youth was released recently. As he still faces the charges against him he is unable to find work nor unable to sit idle at home. He  contacted me over phone yesterday as I too reside in Uganda and  made an ardent appeal for help which moved me greatly.

If it was  in UAE, Saudi or any Gulf nation we could have arranged for  some help. But as he is in Uganda there is  none coming forward to help. More than the youth, one feels sorry for his three kids. If anyone who reads this has any relative or friend in Uganda  please let me know.  Let us hope to get some help through them or  let us  strive to aid this   distressed family  by extending  financial help to the best extent possible.
