Indian Social Forum holds MICS 2017

MICS 2017 (Monumental Inspiration into Civil Services) a unique career guidance session, organised by Indian Social Forum, focused to create awareness on employment in the civil services of India. This was in association with a non-profit organization, ACCESS India, specialized in career guidance and student awareness programme,  for the students of the Indian expatriate.

His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Noor Rahman Sheikh, the Consul General of India, inaugurated the two day session. With a simple and motivating narration, the CG shared his experience before the large gathering of students and parents. Unfolding the toiling experience from his school days, he explained how the relentless efforts empowered him to reach the coveted profession with the civil services of India. His hardship, sincere and consistent efforts has elevated him to the what he is now. His speech was very personal and professional and invited standing ovation from the packed audience that included students and parents.

Delivering the presidential speech, Ashraf Morayur (Regional President Indian Social Forum) emphasized the requirement of the decision makers and policy implementers for a democratic and secular nation like India and explained why the forum took up this civil service which is deserted by expatriate Indian community.

Prof. Imtiazuddin Ahmad Siddiqui, addressed the parents gathered and briefed them about the significance of parent support to enable the students to achieve their dreams and a bright future for them. Having a hand-on experience to educate and prepare to qualify students for Civil service from Kashmir to Kerala, Chief mentor of the session and as an expert career counselor, Prof. Imtiazuddin Ahmad Siddiqui explained about the various positions and professions included in the Civil Services and the necessary preparations that a student should start with to become successful in the civil service examinations. He also answered the various queries from the students about the civil service and its examination.

Mr. Mohammed Shahid Alam the Deputy Consul General and Consul Haj with an interactive session, detailed about the privileges and professional benefits offered by the civil services. Touched by his personnel experience, he motivated young students to become bureaucrats to be a part of change in the administration of India.  He inspired the large student audience by sharing with them the ways and approaches he made to reach one of the successful professions that he dreamed of.  It is not the parents influence that makes one civil servant, but the self-determination and relentless efforts that enable one to achieve their goal.

Mr. Ismail Panavally, Access Saudi Coordinator and facilitator explained the importance of setting goals and selecting the career that aligns with the skills and interests of the students. He also disclosed the easy ways of learning and preparing for the examinations systematically with the topic, “Say goodbye to Exam phobia”.

During the two day programme educationists and eminent Indian Community leaders graced the occasion. Eng. Abdul Majeed (Managing Director, Universal Inspection Services), Mrs. Salma Sheikh (Principal Ma'adal Uloom International School), Mr. Abdul Aziz Kidwai (President, Indian Pilgrim Welfare Forum), Mr. Sirajuddin Mohiuddin (Indian Community Jeddah), Mr. Qamar Sada (Gen. Secretary, Indian Pilgrim Welfare Forum), Mr.Yousuf (Educationist and motivational speaker), Eng.  Mohammed Salman (IT professional), Mr. Nouman (Bhatkal Jeddah Community), Mr. Habibullah (Bhatkal Jeddah Community),  Mr. Zakariyah Ahmed Biladi (member India Forum and IPWF) and Mr. Fayyazuddin (Regional President, India Fraternity Forum) motivated the students with their few, simple, but inspiring words.

A spot talent hunt session was also conducted among the students to pull out instant talent possessed by the students and the performance were incredible. All the best performers were appreciated with prizes.

To give an idea about the preliminary examination of Civil services in India, Mr. Abdul Ghani (Indian Social Forum) conducted Quiz programme for the students. Guests distributed prizes to the winners of Quiz and other interactive competitions during the session.

A whole team led by Mr. E.M Abdullah (Vice President, Indian Social Forum) executive council members including Mohammed Iqbal Chemban, Ismail, Mohammed Haneef, Noushad, Abdul Kareem, Mujeeburrahman and women wing coordinated by Mrs. Sulaiman, Mrs. Sabira, Mrs. Asma Iqbal and a group of dedicated Social Forum volunteers worked hard behind the scene to make programme successful and memorable.

Consul General, Mr. Mohammed Noor Rahman Sheikh presented a memento to Mr. Mohammed Mustafa (Ex, council member ISF), appreciating the sincere social and community services he rendered to the expatriate Indian community for almost two decades.

The bi-diurnal programme began with the recitation from the noble Qur'an. Eng. Al Aman Ahmed welcomed the guests and the gathering that included students and their parents. Mr. Ayoob Hakeem anchored the programme and Mr. Mohammed Ali Muloor (Exec. Member ISF) proposed the vote of thanks and the programmae concluded with the national anthem.
