March 4: Archbishop To Address Gathering On Fr. Toms’ Abduction

Bengaluru, March 4: March 4th 2017 marks one year since Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil was kidnapped in civil-war torn Yemen during an attack on a Missionaries of Charity house (Mother Teresa nuns) that left 4 nuns dead.  He in confinement at an unknown place leaving the whole Catholic Church worried about his whereabouts. 

Bangalore Archdiocese is holding prayer and candle-light service on Saturday 4thMarch 6pm at St. Francis Xaviers Cathedral (near coles park).  Archbishop Dr. Bernard Moras will be addressing a large gathering of people from all across Bengaluru.

Pope Francis had appealed for the priest’s release on April 10, 2016 at his address at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican saying “I renew my appeal for the freeing of all kidnapped persons in armed conflict zones. In particular, I wish to remember Salesian priest Tom Uzhunnalil, who was abducted in Aden, Yemen”
