‘Innovation and Continuous Learning are the key to success’

The Tenth edition of the Annual State level Intercollegiate Cultural, Technical and Management Fest of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE)- Sentia 2017 was inaugurated today at MITE Campus in the midst of gala of participants from across students of Engineering and MBA Colleges of Karnataka. The Four day fest was inaugurated by Mr. Ajith Kumar P N, General Manager, Digital Technologies & IoT. In his inaugural address, Mr. Ajith addressed the students on how important it will be for the students in taking lead and organizing and participating in such competitive events.

Mr. Ajith said ‘To succeed and excel in Career and life, it is important to look beyond what you study today. Practical exposure only can give an edge to candidates in succeeding in the Industry. With the continuous changing dynamics in the Industry, Organizations are looking at graduates who can adapt and self learn. So it is important to learn continuously even beyond graduation. Technologies are becoming obsolete at a very fast pace. Technologies that are used today will become redundant at a very fast pace.

The young generation has to look at what is the need for future and do self learning with the aid of technologies. Also It is important to think about a right career direction , while being in the initial days of the graduation itself, so that a proper planning can be done for a well career planning. The latest trends that are catching a buzz are  - IoT, Cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. Students need to develop innovative product with their ideas. Innovation can only help to excel in career.’

Mr. Rajesh Chouta, Chairman Rajalaxmi Education Trust, in his presidential address said that ‘Sentia has become a religion, passion for MITE. Sentia today has spread all acorss the state, and we at MITE will conduct the activities with complete transparency and utmost hospitality to the participants. Prof. G R Rai, Advisor, MITE advised the students to enjoy the fest and also participate with spirit of competitiveness.

This edition is  witnessing talents across Karnataka participate in a total of 60 events been conducted simultaneously in 10 different venues in the span of two days. Around 1500 Students from 45 Engineering & Management institutes across Karnataka are participating in the event. The gala two day event will be concluded on the evening of March 23rd with the one of its kind Sentia Award Nite, with popular playback singer Shreya Ghoshal giving a live performance in the Musical Live show. The total prize money is about Rs. 10 Lakhs. Day three will witness intra college cultural competition with Alumni Day and the Annual Day will be celebrated on the March 25th  Saturday.

Ms. Anjani, gave the introductory remarks about Sentia. Dr. G L Easwara Prasad welcomed the gathering. Ms. Jayashree, coordinator sentia proposed the vote of Thanks. Mr. Jerence compered the program.
