St Aloysius Evening College organised GST course

Mangaluru, J.24: St Aloysius Evening College, one of the units of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) has organised a crash course on GST for the benefit of the general public. The course was inaugurated on July 22nd in the Sanidhya.

SHREYAS K.M, Assistant Commissioner of “Central Excise &GST,Mangaluru, the Chief Guest inaugurated the course.  Dr Manohar V. Serrao, Principal, SAEC, welcomed the gathering. C.A. Colin Rodrigues, the Resource Person, Mr. Ravi Shetty, Vice Principal, SAEC, Dr Donald Lobo, Director, Diploma and Certificate Courses, SAEC,& Mr HitheshMadivala, President, Students’ Council were present on the occasion.

Speaking after inaugurating the Course, Shreyas K.M. said that G.S.T. was not merely ‘Old wine in a new bottle’ but a major landmark tax reform that has the potential to unify the Indian Economy.

He also stressed upon the need to strengthen the supply component to make this new tax more effective.  Dr V.B.Hans, Dean, Faculty of Arts, was the Emcee. T

he sessions will be held between 2 and 6 p.m. on Saturdays and between 9 and 1 p.m. on Sundays. More than 60 participants drawn from various fields of expertise have registered for the programme which is a pioneering one in Mangalore City.
