Mangalore: A candle light protest was held near DC office, Mangalore on Tuesday night by Students Islamic Organisation (SIO).

Addressing the gathering,  National Secretary,  Labeed Shafi said these are attacks on democracy of India and similar assassinations were carried out against human rights activist and social reformers like  M.M Kalaburgi,  Govind Pansare, Narendra Dabholkar and Advocate Nausham Kasamji.

These preplanned attacks are attacks to progressive thinkers and to those who are against fascist forces, If justice was given to Naushad Kashimji then attacks on Govind Pansare and Narendra Dabholkar wouldn’t have happened, similarly if justice was given to Govind Pansare and Narendra Dabholkar then this  shocking murder of  Gauri Lankesh wouldn’t have been happened, Shafi said .

Dakshina kannada District President Talha Ismail said these attacks are on the humanity, and it gives a clear view that people against fascist thought shouldn’t be alive. He also said that Government failed in protecting such human activist and social thinkers.
