ಹೊಸದಿಲ್ಲಿ, ಮಾ. 27:  ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 26 ರಂದು ದಿ ಹಿಂದೂ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ತನ್ನ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ ಕೊರೋನ ಕುರಿತ ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ಒಂದರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾದ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ ಆ ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ಅನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದೆ.

ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಸಂಪಾದಕ ದೀಪಕ್ ಹರಿಚಂದ್ರನ್ ಅವರು ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊರೋನ ವೈರಸ್ ಅನ್ನು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮ್ ಧಿರಿಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮರು ಧರಿಸುವ ಪಠಾಣ್ ಧಿರಿಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುವ ಆ ವೈರಸ್ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎ ಕೆ 47 ರೈಫಲ್ ಹಿಡಿದು ಇಡೀ ವಿಶ್ವವನ್ನು ಬೆದರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗುತ್ತಲೇ ಅದರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು. ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮರನ್ನು ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕರು ಎಂದು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸುವ ಹಾಗು ಕೊರೋನದಂತಹ ಮಹಾ ಮಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಧರ್ಮದ ಜೊತೆ ಥಳಕು ಹಾಕುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವಿದು ಎಂದು ಜನರು ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತರಾಟೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.

ತೀವ್ರ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ಕಂಡು ಬಂದ ಬಳಿಕ ದಿ ಹಿಂದೂ ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ಅನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ ಕೊರೋನ ವೈರಸ್ ಗೆ ಕೇವಲ ಕಡ್ಡಿಯ ಮೈಕೈಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿತು.

ಅದರ ಜೊತೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟೀಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ "ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 26, 2020 ರಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ಇಸ್ಲಾಂ ದ್ವೇಷಿಯಂತೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಕೆಲವು ಓದುಗರು ಆಕ್ಷೇಪ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೇನಾದರೂ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ನಂಟು ಕಂಡು ಬಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ಕೇವಲ ಆಕಸ್ಮಿಕ. ವೈರಸ್ ಹೇಗೆ ಇಡೀ ವಿಶ್ವವನ್ನು ಭಯಭೀತಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತೋರಿಸುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ನ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ವೈರಸ್ ಅನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ ಕಡ್ಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಥವಾ ವಸ್ತುವಾಗಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ನಾವು ಒಪ್ಪುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಅದರಿಂದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಬೇಸರ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವು ವಿಷಾದಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಮತ್ತು ಆನ್ ಲೈನ್ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ಅನ್ನು ಹಿಂದೆಗೆದು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಕೇವಲ ಕಡ್ಡಿಯ ಮೈಕೈಯ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕಾರ್ಟೂನ್ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ." ಎಂದು ಸಂಪಾದಕರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
