ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರನ್ನು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ : ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕ್ ಖರ್ಗೆ
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು : ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರನ್ನು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಗೃಹ ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕ್ ಖರ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣ ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಅವರು, ಶಾಂತಿಯುತ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವದ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಹಕ್ಕು. ಈ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕು, ರಕ್ಷಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಹತ್ತಿಕ್ಕಬಾರದು ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಯಾವುದೇ ಶಾಂತಿಯುತ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಪಡಿಸದಂತೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ಪೊಲೀಸರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರರ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯೂ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಪೊಲೀಸರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಇದ್ದಾರೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧ್ವನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಗಲು ಅಲ್ಲ. ಕಾನೂನು ಮತ್ತು ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಕಾಪಾಡುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ನಾಗರಿಕರೂ ಯಾವುದೇ ಭಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಂತಿಯುತವಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಭಿನ್ನಾಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಲು ಪೂರಕ ವಾತಾವರಣ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಂತಿಯುತ ಭಿನ್ನಾಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವು ಕಾನೂನು ಮತ್ತು ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಬೆದರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲ. ಬದಲಾಗಿ, ಕಾನೂನು ಮತ್ತು ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯೇ ಆ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕ್ ಖರ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

I have issued instructions to the police to ensure that no peaceful demonstration is disrupted.
I also appeal to all protesters to cooperate with the police and keep the authorities informed, so that their safety and the rights of others are protected as well.
The police are here to protect your rights, not to stand in the way of your voice.
Our responsibility is not merely to maintain law and order, but to create an environment where every citizen can express dissent freely, peacefully and without fear.
In a democracy, peaceful dissent is not a threat to law and order. It is a right that law and order must protect.
