ಖ್ಯಾತ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಾಂಕ್ರಾಮಿಕ ರೋಗತಜ್ಞ ಹಾಗೂ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞ ಡಾ. ಎರಿಕ್ ಭಾರತದ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ. ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಅವರು ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸರಣಿ ಟ್ವೀಟ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ಭಾರತದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಚಿವರಾಗಲು ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನ್ ʼಅಯೋಗ್ಯʼರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಆಕ್ಸಿಜನ್ ಇಲ್ಲದೇ 6 ಮಂದಿ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟ ವೇಳೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ಜೋರ್ಡಾನ್ ನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಚಿವರನ್ನು ಅವರು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
"ಭಾರತವು ಹಲವು ವಾರಗಳಿಂದ ಕೊರೋನ ವೈರಸ್ ನಿಂದಾದ ಸಾವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಚುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸಚಿವ ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನ್ ರಿಗೆ ಸತ್ಯ ಹೇಳುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಈ ಸುಳ್ಳಿನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದರು. ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 2021ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಮಿಲಿಯನ್ ಜನರು ಸಾವಿಗೀಡಾಗಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದು ವರದಿಯಾದ ಸಾವುಗಳ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕ್ಷೇಪಣವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಸೋಂಕು ತಗಲಿದವರ ಸಾವಿನ ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಚುತ್ತಿರುವ ಉತ್ತರಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಆದಿತ್ಯನಾಥ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧವೂ, ಅವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳದ ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಅವರು ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
"ಭಾರತದ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಶೀಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಗೆ ಒದಗಿರುವ ಗಂಡಾಂತರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣವಿಲ್ಲದ ಸಾಂಕ್ರಾಮಿಕವಾಗಿದೆ. ಭಾರತದ ಅನಿರ್ವಹಿತ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಇದು ಏಶ್ಯಾ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವಾರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹರಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ತಳಿಗಳು ಉದ್ಭವವಾಗಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ" ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಟ್ವೀಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
